Reporting to the SAP Senior Enterprise Technical lead (Development, Integration & Quality Assurance), the Quality Assurance Lead will provide technical testing leadership to the City\'s Financial Systems Transformation Project (FSTP). This role is critical to driving technical, strategic direction for the S4/HANA implementation and provides leadership to the testing team that will support the project. The Quality Assurance Lead is also responsible for planning and coordinating the design and implementation of the testing plan, the root-cause analyses, the tracking of defects and the analysis of the quality assurance metrics. This SAP leadership position is required to provide next-generation SAP technologies necessary for delivering the FSTP project, working closely with business clients and stakeholders. This individual will focus on strong partnerships and apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the project on work packages related to testing and quality assurance
Major Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.
Supervises, motivates and trains assigned staff, ensuring effective teamwork, high standards of work quality and organizational performance, continuous learning and encourages innovation in others.
Supervises the day to day operation of all assigned staff including the scheduling, assigning and reviewing of work. Authorizes and co-ordinates vacation and overtime requests. Monitors and evaluates staff performance, approves salary increments, hears grievances and recommends disciplinary action when necessary.
Provides input into and administers assigned budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
Leads, facilitates and contributes to the design, creation, development and sustainment of corporate standards for the division, including formalized project management and methodology, data warehousing architecture, data modeling, metadata, change management, and application development and migration.
Responsible to senior management within the division, business and technical stakeholders for all aspects of assigned projects, including the project charter, project plan and schedule, progress, budget, risk management, issue management, change management, resource management, quality review/best practices.
Provides project budget and financial management such as sole source requests; contract negotiations; leasing agreements; business cases; feasibility and cost/benefit analysis.
Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of various formal contractual documents such as Request For Information/Proposal/Quotation (RFI/P/Q), Statement Of Work (SOW), Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
Provides leadership in the evaluation, selection and recommendation of technical solutions and professional services; manages vendors and contractors in the overall solution delivery process.
Identifies and develops divisional/cross-divisional initiatives to produce synergies and economies of scale.
Negotiates with senior management, clients and various stakeholders often with competing and conflicting goals, objectives and priorities.
Provides assessments and recommendations of new technology trends on the effective use, acquisition and integration of technology by the City.
Identifies and analyzes current business processes and practices in the context of evolving information architecture and performance measures; prepares feasibility study and recommends overall technical solutions for business initiatives and leverage existing enterprise infrastructure investments.
Recommends and implements security, privacy and quality assurance requirements consistent with both the Municipal Freedom of Information Privacy and Protection Act (MFIPPA), and corporate and legislated standards regarding the storage, processing and retention of confidential data.
Recommends, establishes, and sustains various project management structures that span one or more levels of government such as the Provincial Offence Act and Social Housing downloading initiatives.
Assesses and recommends scalable multi-jurisdictional business and technical solutions that meet client and business requirements in the context of corporate standards, policies and procedures for information technologies and architectures. This includes determining requirements, conducting research and evaluations and obtaining all approvals and signoffs.
Informs and educates senior managers, business users and technology peers on technology trends, and the effective use of business and technology solutions and information management.
Key Qualifications:
Your application for the role of Senior Systems Integrators (QA Lead) should describe your qualifications as they relate to:
Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, or a related discipline or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Considerable experience of Quality Assurance initiatives and testing strategies and methodologies in all phases of testing (unit, functional, integration, system, regression, security, performance and user acceptance testing).
Considerable experience leading and managing teams, supporting project and sustainment activities
Experience in Project management in all stages of complex IT projects, with emphasis on financial management, estimating resources, critical path identification and successful project delivery in a large, diverse computing environment.
Experience in gathering business requirements, developing business cases, writing functional specifications, developing requests for proposals and negotiating contracts.
Extensive experience in a software testing lead role for IT projects in application management, implementation of infrastructure solutions or system lifecycle management
Extensive Experience and knowledge using HP Application Lifecycle Management (HPALM) in creating folders in the Test Plan and Test lab
Extensive experience in linking requirements to test cases to generate Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), customizing the Project as per the business requirements, customize System Fields in the Project Entities Module, uploading the test cases/requirements into HP ALM from the HP ALM Add-In in MS-Excel.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of SAP tools and methodologies: ASAP Methodology, SAP Solution Manager (Project Management, Change Management/Charm, Service Request Management, Incident Management, SAP Test Data Migration Server, Business Process Change Analyzer (BPCA), SAP Quality Center by HP (HPQC).
Knowledge of testing integration of SAP modules such as FICO, HR, Payroll, MM, and other SAP products like Success Factors, Ariba, Business Warehouse (BW), BOBJ and Public Budget Formulation (PBF) will be an asset.
Knowledge of emerging architectures, technologies or products such as data warehousing, e-service, quality assurance tools, data retention and document management, particularly as they relate to integration with the SAP system environment.
Ability to automate the Workflow using script editor
Ability to understand, analyze and triage the daily defect status to the Project management office and Stakeholders.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with corporate clients using strong customer service and communications
Ability to supervise/provide coaching, training and work direction to other project staff effectively, as well as appraise work outcomes and quality accurately and fairly as input to the manager.
Ability to work smoothly and successfully with people of varied experience, skill levels, technical and business savvy, and personality type.
Familiarity with of RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to effectively lead meetings, motivate the development team, and create effective documentation.
Familiarity with government legislation in the area of Occupational Health and Safety.
