What is the Opportunity?

Working as a member of the IT Application Development Team, the QA Engineer ensures high level of quality throughout the development life cycle, by writing test automation scripts and doing manual testing. Candidate will work in collaboration with other developers, designers, team members, The Royal Conservatory staff, and external vendors to ensure top quality, endurance and performance of software solutions. In this role you will touch all aspects of The Royal Conservatory tech stack, including brand new projects and existing applications.



Main Duties & Responsibilities

Engages in writing, designing, and executing automated tests. Maximizing test coverage. Writing documentation for automated processes including test plans, test procedures, and test cases. Performing functional testing of features for release cycles, including creating/executing test cases, raising defects, and maintaining defect logs. Conducting regression testing. Executing test cases (automated and manual) and analyzing results. Reporting bugs and errors to development teams. Monitoring and creating logs to document testing phases and defects. Implementing QA processes, standards & controls. Reviewing and analyzing specifications to develop effective test plans and preparing data sets for testing. Working closely with designers, subject matter experts, PMs, developers, end users to ensure quality throughout the SDLC. Working with members of the application development team, research and recommend solutions. Collaborating with various stakeholders inside and outside of IT. Performing other duties as required.

What We're Looking For

College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems or equivalent. 3 or more years of experience working in a similar role or capacity. Knowledge of tools and methods for QA automation (Selenium and at least one programming language knowledge to write end-to-end Selenium tests is required). Experience with test automation frameworks. Ability to write clear, concise, and full test plans and cases. Experience operating within an Agile software development team; working familiarity with Agile practices and principles. Demonstrated skills as a trusted collaborator and contributor to team efforts, bolstered by interpersonal skills and the ability to develop rapport and trust with stakeholders. Comfortable presenting to, and communicating with all levels of the organization. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and its basic concepts. Ability to write and execute complex testing scripts. Ability to embrace constructive feedback for self-development and the advancement of best practices. Ability to problem solve, think critically, and detect concerns proactively. Proactive approach to learning all areas of software development and business processes within the company. Strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies. Strong organizational and estimation skills.

Salary Range


----------------


$80,000 - $90,000 per annum.

Hybrid work environment, working on-site at least two (2) days per week, inclusive of all staff Community Days. Extended periods of PC use and seated work.
