The Opportunity:

Canadian Natural invites you to join our Corporate Quality Assurance (QA) team as a QA Auditor, a crucial role supporting North American Operations (Horizon, Albian, Thermal, and Conventional). You will be working closely with many diverse groups including Projects, Facilities, Operations, Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Supply Management, and Engineering. We will also be auditing external Service Providers/Contractors/Manufacturers to evaluate auditees' compliance with various requirements including Regulatory, Industrial Codes & Standards, Management Systems, and Canadian Natural specific requirements. Your mission is to identify process gaps, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and spearhead improvements across our operations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Planning, scheduling, and conducting audit activities in compliance with Canadian Natural QA auditing principles, practices, and procedure
• Initiating and maintaining an effective interface with the auditees, sponsors, and technical authorities
• Ensuring all documentation pertaining to the audit scope (e.g. checklist, criteria, references, notification letters, plan/agenda, etc.) are current and complete
• Investigating the level of compliance with reference documents and determining the pertinent risk
• Identifying deviations/findings and preparing Non-Compliance Reports, where applicable, and carry out necessary follow ups to close those reports
• Documenting audit process and findings by issuing comprehensive Audit Reports

What You Bring to the Role:

• Engineering degree, with preference for those registered or eligible for registration with APEGA, with most of the experience in Oil & Gas industries (A degree in Mechanical, Material, Welding, or Industrial engineering is an asset)
• Minimum 10 years of direct experience in Projects or In-service Quality Assurance, with a focus on conducting and managing Quality Systems audits
• Lead Auditor certification in QMS or OHS or EMS (preferably QMS) registered with reputable international organization (e.g. IRCA, Exemplar Global) is an asset
• Evident knowledge and certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g. Green/Black Belt) is an asset
• Strong knowledge of industry standards (ISO, CSA, API, ASME, Alberta Safety Codes Act -ABSA) and their application
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal, writing, presentation), and excellent attention to details
