Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the sourcing and procurement of technically complex materials, components, and tooling to support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing production requirements. This role requires strong engineering acumen and purchasing expertise to ensure that all sourced items meet technical specifications, quality standards, and cost objectives while aligning with project timelines and company goals

Duties



Analyze and plan material requirements for assigned commodities to meet NPI and production schedules, balancing lead times, inventory targets, and supplier capacity. Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on technical capability, quality, delivery performance, and cost competitiveness. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure purchased components meet all technical and quality requirements. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to communicate effectively with suppliers regarding material, tolerance, and design expectations. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve best value and meet budgetary targets. Manage supplier relationships and resolve issues related to performance, quality, and delivery. Participate in cross-functional project teams for new product launches, ensuring seamless transition from prototype to production. Source and procure tooling, fixtures, and specialized components required for NPI programs. Address and resolve invoice or PO discrepancies related to cost, quantity, or delivery. Maintain accurate procurement records, forecasts, and reports to support operational planning Other duties as required

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a closely related field. 4+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong technical background with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Experience purchasing custom machined parts, stampings, die castings, and plastic components. Ability to travel to and from the United States to conduct vendor visits & attend meetings at corporate office in Westfield, MA. Working knowledge of GD&T, KPC, and CPK. Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and VA/VE processes. Proven track record in cost reduction, supplier development, and performance improvement. Experience with NPI procurement and managing projects to tight timelines. CPM or SCMP certification (preferred or in progress). Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
