Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee the daily operations of our warehouses across various provinces. The successful candidate will ensure consistent processes, optimize inventory management, and lead a dynamic team while adhering to compliance and safety standards. Balance hands-on daily operational tasks with higher-level management duties, ensuring smooth workflow and team alignment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy:

Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives, ensuring consistency across all provinces. Research and identify potential suppliers to secure the best value in terms of quality, cost, and delivery times. Collaborate with internal teams, including logistics, operations, and finance, to efficiently meet procurement needs. Support day-to-day operational tasks when necessary, including assisting with order processing, supplier coordination, and administrative duties, ensuring the smooth flow of purchasing operations.

Supplier Management:

Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to maximize value. Evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with company standards for quality, service, and reliability.

Inventory Management:

Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to monitor stock levels, placing orders as necessary to prevent shortages or overstocking. Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods across all provinces.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards. Track purchasing costs and manage budgets to ensure expenditures align with company objectives. Provide regular financial reports and forecasts related to purchasing activities to senior management.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all procurement activities comply with provincial and federal regulations, as well as internal corporate policies. Mitigate risks by ensuring supply chain resilience and reducing reliance on single-source suppliers where possible.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with various departments to align purchasing activities with operational needs, particularly in production, logistics, and sales. Facilitate communication between different regional offices to ensure consistent purchasing practices.

Data Management & Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of all procurement transactions, including purchase orders, contracts, and invoices. Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, performance metrics, and areas for improvement. Provide regular reports to management on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives.

Contract Negotiation:

Negotiate purchasing agreements focusing on long-term relationships and favorable terms to secure competitive pricing. Ensure all contracts comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Education, Certifications and Licenses:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management in a multi-location, large-scale operation. Microsoft Office Suite experience. Excellent verbal and written skills.
