Job Description

This full time permanent position is responsible for the purchasing process. You will be expected to interact with outside vendors and all levels of management and staff.

The incumbent is in-charge of soliciting price proposals for the common supplies and equipment used by the organization, evaluation and negotiation of favourable contracts to minimize costs, utilization of volume discounts, development of purchasing strategy, proficiency of purchasing operations, and consistent delivery of quality customer service.

Ideally the candidate will be responsible for purchasing or contracting for a wide range of products and professional services. Additionally, this position requires knowledge of principles and practices of purchasing, combined with common business practices relating to the purchasing, pricing, terms, shipment, taxes and payment for commodities and services.

Key Accountabilities:



Maintain a proper inventory level within your purview to cope with sales demand and to minimize out of stock Formulate purchasing strategy to increase stock turnover and minimize inventory investment Keep track of market trends of major bulk products and disseminate information to Management, Sales and Marketing on a timely basis Source new suppliers when necessary to ensure a proper flow of inventory Ensure there is a cost savings strategy regarding all aspects of the buying department including freight, logistics and all other areas within your scope of responsibility Liaise with Sales & Marketing in new product development Co-operate with Finance Dept. to minimize carriage inward costs by securing favorable freight rates, trucking costs and customs declaration fee Co-ordinate with QA to ensure all incoming products in accordance with the quality standards as prescribed in the Purchase Order Maintain a close rapport with Sales department to achieve sales targets in various segments of the market and to achieve distribution targets as set by the company Maintain close rapport with QA / Production Department to ensure consistent product quality and to improve quality to cope with the need of consumers.

Duties and Responsibilities are but not limited to:



Assumes projects of greater scope and responsibility Prepares proposals, including statements of work, terms and conditions and evaluation criteria Prepares price and cost analysis of proposals Negotiates price, terms and conditions of product contracts Reviews and analyzes the financial condition and technical expertise of offers Participates in the evaluation of proposals and recommends the selection of contract awards. Performs contract administration including liaison between vendors and company departments, compliance with contract terms and conditions, negotiation of contract amendments extensions and change orders Analyzes cost and pricing data from vendors and performs contract audits when required Prepares highly technical and complex specifications, blanket and term contracts, and bid documents, including all related research and value analysis Prepares and analyzes competitive bids and requests for quotations Prepares and maintains accurate records and documentation on all solicitations, responses, purchases, contracts, correspondence and related follow-up Analyzes current procurement activities and recommends improvements through more efficient procurement methods, automation, privatization, quantity discounts, standardization, value analysis and cooperative purchasing Supervises assisting staff ensuring they support the entire organization as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
