Summary
The
Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator
plays a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement, transportation, and inventory flow of raw materials and finished goods across Shaver Industries' facilities in
Canada, the USA, and Ireland
.
This role supports production planning, supplier management, and logistics coordination while maintaining compliance with
USMCA
,
CETA
, and other trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities1. Purchasing & Procurement
Source and purchase raw materials (PVC, steel, aluminum, hardware, packaging, etc.) based on MRP forecasts.
Maintain supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and manage purchase order lifecycles.
Review and approve purchase requisitions, ensuring alignment with lead time and cost targets.
Conduct vendor performance reviews (pricing accuracy, on-time delivery, quality).
Coordinate custom materials and special-order components with engineering and production teams.
2. Logistics Coordination
Manage inbound and outbound shipments (LTL, courier, and international freight).
Work with
UPS WorldShip
,
FedEx Ship Manager
, and LTL carriers to schedule pickups and track deliveries.
Prepare and verify shipping documentation including
commercial invoices
,
packing slips
, and
certificates of origin
.
Optimize freight costs through carrier analysis and route planning.
Ensure compliance with
customs regulations
,
export control
, and trade documentation standards.
3. Inventory & ERP Management
Monitor stock levels and reorder points within
NetSuite ERP
.
Assist with
WMS (Warehouse Management System)
receiving and transfers between Canada, USA, and Ireland locations.
Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
Support production scheduling and forecasting with accurate material availability reporting.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Sales to align material supply with project schedules.
Support rollout of new ERP modules (e.g., MRP, WMS, CADLink).
Provide data analysis and reporting to support management decisions on cost control and logistics efficiency.
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Operations.
Experience:
3-7 years in purchasing/logistics within manufacturing or industrial environments.
