ABOUT THE CDQ CO-OP LTD.



The CDQ CO-OP LTD. (CDQ) is a franchisee governed purchasing Cooperative, with offices in Calgary AB and Burlington ON, which was established in 1992 by a group of Canadian Dairy Queen Franchisees. The CDQ is responsible for all aspects of managing successful supply chain operations including but not limited to, product forecasting, vendor management, product approval though International Dairy Queen Research & Development and day to day assistance on all equipment needs for both the Dairy Queen and Orange Julius systems of Canada.

JOB OVERVIEW



Negotiate and assist in managing purchasing programs with approved suppliers to ensure endorsed distributors have adequate quantities of approved products at competitive prices for franchisees. Follow up with manufacturers and troubleshoot to resolve shipment shortages, production issues and complaints throughout the supply chain. Ensure that inventory levels are at adequate levels throughout the system. Identify potential secondary or alternative supply sources. Manage product costing, new product introductions, and inventory levels at both the Vendor and Distributor Levels. Manage Canadian Promotional Calendar forecasting and communication to vendors and distributors. Direct management of categories, as it relates to day-to-day responsibilities. Manage obsolete inventory and extraordinary freight within budget parameters. Report weekly inventories of all promotional items to the Supply Chain Lead. Provide bi-weekly promotional product inventory updates. Effective communication of all new product information for set pricing (internal & external)

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES



Weekly review of promotional product activity RFP information preparation (vendor and distribution) Vendor conformance to specifications, manage the relationship between IDQ Corporate R&D and Canadian vendors Product quality complaint follow-up, through One Call. Prepare communication of all promotional items to the appropriate vendor. Manage communications with distributors as they relate to the promotional calendar. Execute RFP's as defined by the CDQ CO-OP Manage new product introductions within assigned categories. Manage procurement process. Bi-Weekly distributor invoice cost audit. Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:



Post-Secondary Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent ispreferred, but not required. 2 years of prior distribution or purchasing experience preferred High level of organizational and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical skills Accounting knowledge and understanding would be beneficial Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external co-workers and franchisees Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to both collaborate in a team environment as well as work independently Ability to coordinate with other departments: operations, marketing, IDQ Corporate research and development, to complete projects on time. Strong knowledge and familiarity with Food Service QSR and Distribution.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS



Working on a personal computer for extended periods, an average of 7.5 hours per day. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required to meet project deadlines. Some travel may be required.
