The Role: We are excited to create a new position within our newly created Category Management team located in Burlington, Ontario. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible to oversee daily activity on a select list of vendors within the Category Management systems. You will be responsible for PO placement, PO confirmations, costing, new item set up and price changes within your branch environment. This opportunity will enable you to build new business relationships with suppliers and our internal team.   • Place POs with all manufactures within the branch environment.
  • Maintain frequent communications with suppliers to ensure deliveries are on schedule.
  • Maintain Costing for all items in data base with support from Category Management teammates.
  • Create and maintain Items within system database.
  • Work closely with Category Management Team and Supply Chain Resource Team.
  • Process Price increases and supported costing changes as required.

Requirements:
  • 1-3 years\xe2\x80\x99 supply chain and procurement experience in a high-volume distribution environment (preferred)
  • Certification from Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of supply chain \xe2\x80\x93 logistics, purchasing, shipping/receiving, inventory management and purchasing practices and procedures
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to problem solve is a MUST.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Previous experience working with AS400 Systems an asset.
