Job Overview



GPL Building Products is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing international building products and negotiating competitive pricing to support our operations and maintain our market competitiveness. Your expertise in procurement processes will be essential to ensure we secure high-quality materials at the best possible prices.

Duties



Key Responsibilities:



1. Sourcing and Supplier Management:



Identify and evaluate potential international suppliers for a diverse range of building products. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.

2. Price Negotiation:



Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing solutions. Conduct regular market analysis to stay informed about pricing trends and competitor offers.

3.

Order Management:



Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of products to meet project timelines. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the logistics team to manage stock efficiently.

4. Quality Assurance:



Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure all products meet GPL Building Products' standards. Address any quality issues with suppliers swiftly and effectively.

5. Cost Analysis and Reporting:



Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings. Prepare reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and market conditions for management review.

6. Collaboration and Communication:



Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align purchasing strategies with business goals. Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.

7. Compliance and Documentation:



Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding procurement practices. Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier agreements, and correspondence.

Requirements



2-5 years of experience in international purchasing. Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful vendor management. Ability to analyze pricing structures and make data-driven decisions. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for collaboration across departments. A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on continuous improvement.
