Full-time (Contract) Purchasing Agent
to join our team for
12-months
, covering a maternity leave.
As a Purchasing Agent you will cultivate relationships with relationships both internally and externally and actively seek new business opportunities. Working under the supervision of the Product and Purchasing Manager this position is a highly important part of the team. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer experiences, support to store operations, and helping the company achieve long-term business growth.
Position Responsibilities:
Process daily replenishment Purchase Orders to ensure adequate inventory replenishment
Respond to and resolve Help Desk Tickets in a friendly, professional, and timely manner
Correspond with external vendors and expedite outstanding purchase orders
Maintain clear communication with our sales partners
Respond and triage emails that come to our generic team email inbox
Processing and arranging for our Operation Team to pick up various purchasing orders
Updating, downloading and completing order confirmation updates in our ERP system
Maintain vendor costing in our ERP system
Manage and maintain customer pricing matrices
Manage open Purchase Orders by corresponding with vendors and maintaining detailed ETA information in our systems
Process Emergency Procurement requests from Sales Team
Update costing for your assigned vendors, ensure all products are assigned to the correct Buylines and all required system settings are in place.
Requires a motivated, take initiative results-driven team member.
Actively participates in Health and Safety initiatives, policies and health and safety training.
Must be professional, positively representing Johnstone Supply in all job-related challenges.
Education, Experience & Other Skills:
Post-secondary diploma in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous purchasing experience (preferable)
Background in supply chain environment (preferable)
Strong knowledge/skills in the use of PC-Based spreadsheets and word processing programs, and Google Sheets/Docs.
Strong to advanced level excel skills with large amounts of data (VLOOKUP)
Familiarity with ERP systems is an asset
Excellent Customer Service, problem solving, and time management skills with the ability to multitask and skill in prioritizing work
Highly resourceful problem solver: listening to, interpreting and meeting the needs of others: diagnosing and rectifying problems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
