What is the opportunity?
We currently have an opening for a proactive and detail-driven professional to join our Purchasing Team. The ideal experienced candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our procurement processes and vendor relationships, contributing significantly to our mission of providing high-quality manufacturing services.
If you have experience in a manufacturing environment, sourcing parts (electronics part sourcing considered an asset), working with brokers, coordinating with planning and production teams, strong communication skills, strong purchasing practices, and experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Intuitive ERP considered an asset), we want to hear from you!
What will you do?
Purchase electronic components and materials as required for production needs
Communicate with vendors and brokers to ensure competitive pricing and on-time delivery of parts
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful vendor management.
Review and maintain purchase orders, tracking delivery schedules and following up on due dates
Handle invoicing issues with Accounting and ensure smooth order flow
Coordinate with Planning, Production and Inventory teams to support planning requirements and RMA activity
Maintain and update ERP/MRP systems with accurate purchasing data (Intuitive ERP experience considered an asset)
Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes.
Evaluate suppliers, identify opportunities for improvement, and support vendor assessments with the Purchasing Manager
Collaborate closely with Sales, Planning, and Production teams to align purchasing with demand requirements
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and sales representatives
Responsible for the general organization and accuracy of purchasing records
Analyze procurement data, evaluate cost-saving opportunities, and recommend improvements to purchasing practices
Must-haves
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Supply Chain Management designation is considered an asset)
5+ years of experience as a Purchasing Agent, Buyer, or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment; experience in electronics manufacturing is considered an asset
Strong understanding of electronic components, planning, and production requirement
Experience working with brokers and negotiating with suppliers
ERP/MRP system experience; Intuitive ERP is considered an asset
Able to speak, read, and write fluent English
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams (Sales, Planning, Production, Accounting)
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to follow through on due dates and commitments
Adaptability to changing market conditions and shifting business priorities
Commitment to ethical conduct and professional integrity in all purchasing activities
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a combined manufacturing and office environment. Work may involve a minimal degree of exposure to chemicals and fumes. Long periods of sitting at a desk require stretching and maintaining good posture.

This is a full-time, salaried position based in Calgary, AB.
The position is an "on-site" position.
Compensation will be determined based on knowledge and experience.
Those who apply should have their own transportation and be able to arrive on time as bus routes are limited.
Hours of work are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
