The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services required to support the manufacturing and service operations of ODRA Road Sweepers. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a reliable and cost efficient supply chain while maintaining inventory health, supporting production schedules, and driving supplier performance across North America.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
Source and purchase raw materials, parts, and components required for production and service activities.
Generate, issue, and manage purchase orders.
Continuously evaluate the market for new suppliers, alternative materials, and cost saving opportunities.
Identify and vet new sourcing opportunities to ensure supplier reliability, quality, and value.
Supplier Management & Negotiation
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure on time delivery, competitive pricing, and consistent quality.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to support cost efficiency and operational targets.
Lead communication with vendors regarding quality issues, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
Track and assess supplier performance, including delivery metrics and service levels.
Inventory & Operational Alignment
Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages and prevent overstock situations.
Track purchasing KPIs such as PO aging, delivery delays, and vendor performance trends.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Planning, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to ensure purchasing activities align with operational demands.
Resolve supply related issues creatively and efficiently to support ongoing production flow.
Administrative & ERP Responsibilities
Process purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement documentation.
Ensure data integrity for purchasing and inventory records.
Prepare reports and analysis for purchasing reviews and cost evaluations.
Qualifications
Post Secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
2-5 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
Proficiency with ERP systems and M365 is required.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Knowledge of mechanical or industrial components is an asset.
Supply Chain certifications (e.g., SCMP, CPIM) are considered an asset.
