About us

Givens Engineering Inc. is Canada's largest manufacturer of manipulators and light cranes.

We are seeking a purchaser at Givens Engineering Inc in London, a manufacturer of cranes, manipulators and material-handling equipment. We employ salesmen, designers, engineers, welders, machinists, electricians and assemblers. We sell throughout Canada and the US (in the US via our sister company, Givens Lifting Systems, in Toledo, Ohio). Most of the product sold in the US is designed, fabricated and assembled here in London.

You would assist our present purchaser in buying steel, aluminum, air cylinders, valves, fasteners, electrical equipment and a huge volume of machine components. In general, the selection of components is done by our team of designers, who list parts in their drawings and requisitions. Purchase orders are created through QuickBooks.

You would also assist with shipping & receiving, by entering item receipts in QuickBooks, preparing packages for shipping via courier, preparing customs paperwork for cross border shipments, and hiring 3rd party trucking services.

You would also do general office work such as data entry, some accounting entries, inventory management, or any other task as the need arises.

Past experience in purchasing would be very valuable and purchasing experience of industrial products would be more useful still. A community college diploma in engineering technology, purchasing, business or accounting or would be useful, but not absolutely necessary.
