At Bowhead - we design and build innovative products for individuals with limited mobility - including our line up of adaptive electric mountain bikes.

We are seeking a skilled

Purchaser / Inventory Manager

to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing purchases and inventory but also have familiarity with our products (bikes and wheelchair) components and possess a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Duties:

Parts Procurement & Inventory Management:

Conduct purchasing activities but also be a champion leading production for correct use of the MRP software (Katana).

o Monitoring inventory levels manually (physical checks and excel docs) and via MRP system to prepare and process purchasing orders

o Calculate and analyze inventory statistics to provide optimal supply to manufacturing

o Expedite order delays or problems to maintain order schedules

o Monitor use of Manufacturing Orders and Bills of Materials - ensure production is pulling inventory out of the system correctly

o Perform inventory counts and generate a process for scheduled stock takes

o Analyze and compile weekly shortage updates

o Ensure arrival dates are maintained accurately and promptly within MRP system

o Work with Engineering to document and track any deviations, changes in suppliers or parts for production

o Maintain and update physical inventory organization (bins, kanban cards and labels)

Receiving Coordination:

Direct receiver in tasks to complete and update the MRP inventory levels following bowhead policy and procedure. Involve engineering when inspections are required.

Supplier Communication/Coordination:

maintain relationships with reliable suppliers who can meet quality, quantity and delivery requirements. Evaluate performance, monitor service levels, and manage vendor contracts to ensure consistent and reliable parts supply.

o Maintain ongoing communications with suppliers and vendors regarding costs, quality, and monitor metrics for on time delivery performance

o Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns, delivery timing, damages, late arrivals and quality problems with suppliers

o Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as supplier disruptions, component shortages, or changes in market conditions.

o Develop contingency plans and alternative sources strategies to minimize potential impact on production schedules

o Actively follow up and work closely with suppliers, customers and warehouse for scheduling and coordinating delivery of parts

Logistics Coordination:

Coordinate with transportation providers for incoming purchase orders. Optimize transportation routes and modes, considering cost, efficiency and sustainability factors. Print paperwork (shipping labels) and affix to out-going product.

Skills / Requirements:

Post Secondary Degree or Diploma, supply chain management preferred 3+ Years experience working in manufacturing in purchasing or inventory management Strong analytical capability, and ability to extract and present information to stakeholders Excellent communication skills Proficiency with computer systems (ERP software and Microsoft Excel) Knowledge of bike or wheelchair components is an asset Positive Attitude, self-motivated and proactive Organized and able to demonstrate high attention to detail Able to work well with others in English Able to precisely follow standard procedures for documentation

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
