to support oil and gas field or plant operations by operating, maintaining, and monitoring pumping systems.. This role is critical in ensuring efficient and safe fluid handling during production, fracking, or pipeline transfers.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor high-pressure pumps, transfer pumps, injection pumps, and other fluid handling systems.
Start, stop, and regulate pumps based on flow rates, pressure, tank levels, and operational demands.
Monitor control panels, meters, gauges, and Data systems to ensure equipment is operating within specified parameters.
Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance on pump equipment, hoses, valves, and fittings.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs or report major malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
Assist in oil, gas, or water transfers during drilling, completions (frac jobs), well testing, or pipeline operations.
Follow strict safety protocols for handling flammable and hazardous materials.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, spill prevention, and company HSE policies.
Accurately document pumping operations, volumes, and maintenance activities.
Coordinate with drivers, engineers, field operators, and control room personnel.
Participate in safety meetings and emergency response drills.
Requirements & Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred).
2+ years of experience in pump operations within the oil & gas industry (upstream, midstream, or downstream).
Familiarity with equipment such as centrifugal pumps, diaphragm pumps, triplex pumps, and chemical injection systems.
Ability to read P&IDs, flow diagrams, and technical manuals.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Comfortable working in remote field locations or industrial environments.
Must be physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, climbing stairs/ladders, and working in extreme weather.
Valid Class 1A driver's license and reliable transportation with a clean drivers abstract
H2S, First Aid, CSO or other oilfield safety certifications are a plus.
Working Conditions:
Field-based involves shift work or rotational schedules (e.g., 14/14, 21/7).
Exposure to high-pressure systems, flammable gases, extreme heat or cold, and loud noise.
PPE required: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, FR clothing, steel-toe boots, hearing protection.
