About the Role

Reports to:

Publicity Manager, Drama, Kids & Nelvana

Job Overview: The Publicity Coordinator's main responsibilities include media and influencer relations, handling media inquiries and writing communications materials for Corus' Drama and Kids networks, including W Network, Showcase, ABC Spark, Adult Swim, YTV, TELETOON and Treehouse as well as STACKTV. Some administrative duties, such as media database collection and online media site management, and press coverage collection and reporting will also be required.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage daily media monitoring across all Corus Drama and Kids networks, along with strategic campaign reporting
  • Assist Publicists in generating and maximizing earned PR for all Drama and Kids networks and priority series through media pitching, coordinating press junkets, events and developing and executing creative influencer programs to further build awareness and audience
  • Draft and distribute communications materials for external and internal audiences, including press releases, programming highlights, key messages, press kits, and more
  • Manage screener and video clip requests for media
  • Foster relationships with network talent, distributors and Corus cross-functional teams
  • Cultivating strong relationships with media outlets and journalists to ensure efficient communication and maximum coverage
  • Update and maintain media and influencer contacts list
  • Manage the art/photography files for all Drama and Kids series
  • Manage media site with relevant and timely materials for all Drama and Kids series
  • Coordinate, compile and courier media and influencer packages as required
  • Assist with special projects as they pertain to overall departmental initiatives
About You

Essential Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in the arts, public relations or communications
  • Minimum of 1 year related work experience in entertainment, broadcast or public relations fields
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Diplomacy
  • Flexible to change, new challenges and demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, strong organization skills and detail orientation
  • Interest in and knowledge of Canadian broadcast industry trends and developments
  • Strong computer skills: MS Word, MS Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Keen interest and understanding of social media platforms and social influencers
