We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and versatile Coordinator to join our Marketing and Publicity team.

Your contribution to the story:

At Penguin Random House Canada we strive to connect our authors and books to more readers than any other publisher. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Publicity, you will work across publishing divisions and genres to provide exceptional support for our marketing and PR campaigns, including social media, ensuring we deliver on our promise of being the most reader-centric publisher and the most attractive home for authors.

What you'll do:

Assist with the planning and execution of marketing and publicity campaigns for our books and authors, across all formats

Assist with preparing for author meetings, reporting, and presentations

Responsible for imprint social media postings, including supporting content calendar development and copy

Help manage corporate partnerships for title-specific marketing and/or author partnerships, as needed

Liaise with colleagues in both Canada and the US, in all departments, including publishing and sales

In partnership with publicity, manage book and author-related requests with our media, influencers, festival, and event partners

Manage regular media monitoring to gather title-specific coverage, as needed

Assist on influencer research, mailings, campaigns, and reporting

Assemble and distribute promotional mailings and other administrative tasks as needed

Working with publicists, support authors with virtual and in-person media and event commitments, as needed

Join and actively participate in team meetings and brainstorms

Experience and knowledge you'll bring (qualifications):

Working knowledge of leading traditional and online Canadian media channels

Understanding of social media platforms and their audiences

An effective and proactive approach to problem-solving and strong attention to detail

Capacity to learn quickly and thrive in an ever-changing work environment

Proven organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proven ability to work independently or collaboratively

An inclusive approach, supported by a cultural competency and a proven ability to collaborate with people from across a wide range of diverse backgrounds

Comfort with Microsoft Office suite and online collaboration tools

Enhanced knowledge, awareness, and experience with the culture and history of any community that has faced marginalization is considered a plus

And of course, a love for books!

We are currently working in a flexible/hybrid work model and as such candidates located within commuting distance of Toronto will be given preference. Our office is open, and employees are welcome to utilize the facilities when needed.
