The Town of Kindersley is seeking a reliable, hardworking individual to join our Public Works team. This role involves maintaining roads, water distribution, drainage, and other municipal infrastructure. Work is primarily outdoors and physically demanding. This position is a permanent full-time in-scope position.
Duties & Responsibilities
Street and sidewalk maintenance (grading, gravelling, patching, crack sealing, snow removal, sanding, painting, sweeping).
Water and sewer system maintenance (curb stops, valves, hydrants, lagoons, lift stations, sewer augers).
Traffic and drainage control (signs, signals, ditches, catch basins).
General labour, pest control, equipment operation, and other assigned duties.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Valid SK Class 5 Driver's License.
Ability to safely operate heavy equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and physical fitness (lift 50 lbs, work in all weather).
Team-oriented, dependable, and safety-conscious.
Assets: First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, 3-5 years heavy equipment experience in a municipal or comparable setting, mechanical/repair skills.
Work Conditions:
40 hours/week (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch break)
Overtime, weekends, and callouts as required.
Outdoor work in varied weather; PPE will be provided.
Compensation & Benefits:
Starting wage: $23.39 - $26.73 depending on experience (CUPE #2740).
3 weeks paid vacation.
