About the position:
The Public Health Nurse will be responsible for the provision of nursing interventions which promote and preserve the health of communities, families and individuals across the lifespan; functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and services; uses principles of community development to identify health issues, advocates for policy change; applies innovative health promotion strategies to facilitate healthy living in the community.
Qualifications and Competencies
:
BScN including preparation in public health nursing
Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
Experience in community-based service delivery
Self-starter demonstrating initiative and with the ability to take appropriate action/direction
Demonstrated knowledge and decision-making skills in health assessment, knowledge and understanding of the core functions and approaches of public health practice, strong project management skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team setting
Ability to provide non-judgmental and inclusive service to all clients
Masters level education is considered an asset
A valid Ontario driver's license, with valid insurance and reliable vehicle access
Required to have full COVID-19 immunization and are able to provide evidence of status.
Terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the ONA Brantford Nurses' Collective Agreement.
Hourly wage range: $46.58/hour - $54.12/hour, 70 hours in a two-week period.
