Resume du poste :

Relevant du gestionnaire d'equipe des soins cliniques - Sante publique, l'infirmiere ou l'infirmier de sante publique applique les sciences de la sante publique et la theorie des soins infirmiers pour promouvoir, proteger et preserver la sante des populations. Les infirmieres et les infirmiers de sante publique s'efforcent d'ameliorer la sante de tous et de reduire les inegalites entre les populations en abordant les determinants de la sante et en favorisant des resultats equitables sur la sante. Les services de sante publique s'adressent aux personnes, aux familles, aux groupes et aux communautes dans un continuum tout au long de la vie. Les infirmieres et les infirmiers de sante publique s'occupent des questions environnementales et appliquent des strategies appropriees pour prevenir les blessures et les maladies chroniques et transmissibles. Les infirmieres et les infirmiers de sante publique soutiennent la sante reproductive/sexuelle et favorisent la sante des femmes en post-partum, des nourrissons et des familles. Les infirmieres et les infirmiers de sante publique respectent la diversite, l'autodetermination, l'autonomisation et la participation communautaire et utilisent les principes de reduction des risques et de developpement communautaire. Les infirmieres et les infirmiers de sante publique exercent le niveau approprie d'initiative et de jugement pour determiner les priorites au travail, les methodes de travail a mettre en oeuvre et les mesures a prendre a l'egard de questions inhabituelles. Le ou la titulaire du poste exerce ses fonctions conformement a la mission, aux buts, aux objectifs, aux politiques, aux procedures de l'ORS d'Entre-les-Lacs et de l'Est et a toute loi en vigueur.

Qualifications:



Membre en regle de l'Ordre des infirmieres et des infirmiers du Manitoba. Baccalaureat en sciences infirmieres. Certificat en reanimation de base. Certificat en allaitement de Douglas College de preference. Avoir termine le programme d'Amelioration des competences pour la sante publique de l'Agence de sante publique du Canada de preference. Avoir termine le Programme de formation sur les competences en matiere d'immunisation, ou etre dispose a le terminer au cours des trois premiers mois d'emploi. Maitrise des applications Microsoft Office et du courrier electronique. Une connaissance de la recherche et des methodes statistiques de preference. Comprehension de la Loi sur la sante publiqueet du role legifere de l'infirmiere et de l'infirmier de sante publique est necessaire. Bonne comprehension de la Loi sur les renseignements medicaux personnelset capacite d'assurer la confidentialite sont necessaires. Un minimum de deux (2) ans d'experience equivalente a temps plein en soins infirmiers de sante publique au cours des cinq (5) dernieres annees ou dans un domaine infirmier connexe mettant l'accent sur la protection de la sante, la prevention des maladies, la promotion de la sante et le developpement communautaire est necessaire. Application demontree des principes de reduction des risques dans la pratique des soins infirmiers de preference. Capacite averee a travailler de maniere autonome et independante dans divers contextes. Capacite averee a s'engager dans une pratique interprofessionnelle et a collaborer avec les membres de l'equipe de soins de sante multidisciplinaire. Capacite averee a respecter les normes professionnelles en matiere de soins infirmiers et les normes de sante publique. Capacite averee a appliquer un modele de promotion de la sante de la population tout en tenant compte des determinants sociaux de la sante. Capacite averee a integrer et a appliquer les concepts de changement de comportement et de reduction des risques. Aptitude averee a prendre des decisions et a resoudre des problemes dans des situations complexes. Aptitude demontree a communiquer oralement et par ecrit. Competences eprouvees en matiere de collaboration, de negociation et de resolution de conflits La maitrise des deux langues officielles est essentielle pour les postes cibles et les postes designes bilingues. Capacite manifeste de respecter la confidentialite, y compris en ce qui concerne les documents sur papier, en version electronique et autres moyens de communication. Capacite manifeste de pouvoir satisfaire aux exigences physiques et mentales du poste. Un permis de conduire valide Bons antecedents professionnels et un bon taux d'assiduite. Position Summary:

Reporting to the Clinical Team Manager - Public Health, the Public Health Nurse applies public health sciences and nursing theory to promote, protect and preserve the health of populations. Public Health Nurses strive to improve the health of all people and reduce inequities among populations by addressing the determinants of health and promoting equitable health outcomes. Public Health services are directed to individuals, families, groups and communities in a continuum across the life span. Public Health Nurses address environmental issues and apply appropriate strategies to prevent injuries, chronic and communicable diseases. Public Health Nurses support reproductive/sexual health and promote the health of postpartum women, infants and families. Public Health Nurses respect diversity, self-determination, empowerment, and community participation and utilize the principles of harm reduction and community development. Public Health Nurses exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgement in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position of Public Health Nurse functions in accordance with the Interlake-Eastern RHA's mission, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and any applicable legislation.

Qualifications:



Active Practice Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba required. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Douglas College Breastfeeding Certificate preferred. Completion of the Public Health Agency of Canada's Skills Enhancement for Public Health Program preferred. Completion of Education Program for Immunization Competencies (EPIC), or willingness to complete within 3 months of employment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and email required. Knowledge of research and statistical methods preferred. Understanding of Public Health Actand the legislated role of the public health nurse required. Good understanding of The Personal Health Information Actand ability to maintain confidentiality required. Minimum of two (2) years full time equivalent experience in Public Health Nursing in the last five (5) years or related nursing field with emphasis on health protection, illness prevention, health promotion and community development required. Demonstrated application of harm reduction principles in nursing practice preferred. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and independently in a variety of settings. Demonstrated ability to engage in inter-professional practice and collaborate with members of the multi-disciplinary health care team. Demonstrated ability to maintain both professional nursing standards and public health standards. Demonstrated ability to apply a population health promotion model while considering the social determinants of health. Demonstrated ability to integrate and apply both behavior change and harm reduction concepts. Demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills in complex situations. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated effective collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions. Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums. Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job. Valid drivers' license. Good work and attendance record. Satisfactory employment record.
