Tasks

Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems Interview patients Record observations Use standard psychological tests for assessment Write progress reports Prepare a treatment plan for each patient Provide education to clients regarding health promotion and injury prevention, management and treatment Provide therapy Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social and vocational development and adjustment Implement treatment plans Perform administrative tasks Analyze the patient during the treatments Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes Maintain accurate records Plan intervention programs Follow up results of counselling programs and clients' adjustment Provide consultation services to government and other organizations Administer standard psychological tests for assessment Conduct vocational testing and psychometric assessment Help clients manage physical illness and disorders
