The Transplant program prides itself on delivery of quality patient care, and innovation. This is a unique, challenging, and exciting opportunity to join the Recipient Transplant Services team, which includes recipient transplant programs as it relates to the heart, lung, kidney, liver, pancreas, islet, and intestines. In this role, you will perform psychological assessments of pre- and post-transplant patients in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. You will also provide psychological treatments and interventions, including addiction counseling, psychotherapy, and behavioral health treatments, to patients and families, and address issues such as addiction and maintaining a healthy lifestyle post-transplant. You will have the opportunity to provide counseling support services, as well as coach patients and support systems on tools and strategies to navigate successfully through their transplant journey. You will have opportunity to assist with program development, research and provide input for quality improvement processes. This is an advanced level psychology position that will allow you to work with or within teams to provide and inform services for patients with complex and multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental and/or instrumental needs. You will consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure that practices are evidence based and in alignment with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, as well as policy, legislation and regulations. You will be expected to lead, facilitate and/or participate in program, policy, and procedure development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement and evaluation, and/or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s). You may provide supervision to doctoral level psychology residents, master\'s level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists and other team members.

Required Qualifications:Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Additional Required Qualifications:Experience conducting psychological assessments and developing treatment plans. Previous Experience with Chronic Disease Management. Familiarity with DSM diagnoses, and experience with multi-model approaches to therapy including but not limited to DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Non-violent crisis intervention (CPI). Previous experience working with addictions, mental health or in acute care settings. Preferred Qualifications:Previous Experience with Chronic Disease Management. Experience working with transplant services. Previous experience working in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary setting. Suicide risk assessment and safety planning. Experience working with community programs.
