Your Opportunity:
As our Psychologist I, your role will be to work with other rehabilitation professionals, typically when cases present emotional, behavioral, psychosocial developmental or family relationship issues that interfere with Occupational, Physical or Speech therapies. A key focus of this role will be support for feeding services offered by our department across Central Alberta. You will consult on strategies that can be incorporated into the other treatment modalities or work as part of an interdisciplinary team with direct involvement with children and/or families. This position is based out of the Red Deer 49th Street Community Health Centre, and travel to other Central Alberta health centres may also be required. Red Deer is located in Central Alberta near the midpoint of the Calgary-Edmonton Corridor and is surrounded by Red Deer County. It is Alberta's third-most-populous city - after Calgary and Edmonton with just over 100,000 citizens. Description:
As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.
