Your Opportunity:
As part of the Provincial Virtual Children's Rehabilitation team within the Allied Health Professions portfolio and reporting to the Program Manager, the Psychologist I will be responsible for pediatric rehabilitation universal and targeted services. The Psychologist I will provide discipline expertise to: Develop and design allied health/pediatric rehabilitation interventions to promote early identification of common conditions, self/family-management, and targeted strategies for families and partners. Deliver programs collaboratively as a team, or for the discipline, and with other partners primarily online, virtually and occasionally live. Coordinate and direct referrals in defined pathways with Zones, Rehabilitation Advice Line (RAL) and partners through collaborative care planning. Lead and contribute to the writing, recording, format and structure of the resources on e-platforms, including website development and linkages to partner sites. Optimize access through partnerships with external partners (daycares, preschools, schools, community associations) to determine priorities, promote, & deliver virtual interventions to build capacity in prioritized areas for pediatric rehabilitation. Evaluate targeted and universal service approaches.
Description:
As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as educational activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practices and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consult and collaborate with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.
