DescriptionDepartment summaryThe University of Alberta Department of Psychiatry has a well-established residency training program in psychiatry, with Royal College accredited sub-specialty training programs in child & adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry, and a new sub-specialty training program in geriatric psychiatry that has received provisional Royal College approval. The successful candidate will play a significant role in Medical Education Leadership. In addition to post-graduate residency training, the Department has commitments to education as a part of the MD Program with the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, providing both pre-clinical and clinical teaching for core and elective experiences for undergraduate MD students. The successful candidate may also integrate undergraduate medical educational leadership in their position.AHS is Canada\'s first and largest province-wide, fully integrated health system, responsible for delivering health services to the over four million people living in Alberta, as well as to some residents of Saskatchewan, B.C., and the Northwest Territories. The AMHSP is jointly overseen by Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta.
