At Community Care Durham (CCD), coordinated networks of volunteers and inter-professional staff, working out of integrated community hubs and other locations, strive to enrich the well-being and quality of life for people wherever they choose to call home. As the largest community support services agency in Durham Region, CCD collaborates with its partners and the broader community to address community issues and support local citizens to achieve their goals to live independently.
Reporting to the Manager, Client Contact Centre, the PSW Program Scheduler supports the day-to-day provision of services; vacations, gaps, additional hours of service and sick calls; coordinates the provision of In-Home Support and participates as an effective member of the Community Care team.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Coordinates schedules for clients and staff;
Scheduling PSW staff - may including mastering of schedules in accordance with the Employment Standards Act;
Communicates new assignments and/or schedule changes to Personal Support Worker staff and clients;
Identifies and addresses scheduling issues (i.e. call ins, no shows etc.);
Provides support and assistance with problem solving to team members;
Documents and reports as required to Manager and/or Service Coordinator;
Enters all scheduling data into computer system in a timely manner and ensuring that data is accurate and complete;
Provides scheduling back up support to after-hours staff as needed;
Provides support to staff and clients as needed;
Maintains confidentiality of client, personnel and agency operations.
Qualifications required:
Post-Secondary Diploma in Office Administration or Medical Administration, or a combination of education and experience
Two (2) years' experience in scheduling staff
One (1) year experience in office administration
One (1) year experience utilizing computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
Strong customer service skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Good working knowledge of the principles of community support services including community, mental health and gerontology, volunteer management
Sensitivity to the needs of the vulnerable population with disabilities, including challenges in cognition
Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies
Compensation:
Starting at $39,000 annually; three (3) weeks' vacation per year of work (pro-rated to hours worked); 9 paid (including stat) holidays, 3 float days; health, insurance, and pension benefits when eligible.
Pay will be commensurate based on education and experience
Shift Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
