Caring PSW - Independent Contractor Casual 4-Hour Shifts in Burlington

Hi! We're a small family looking for a kind, experienced PSW to help with in-home care on a casual basis. Perfect if you want flexible 4-hour shifts and to work as an independent contractor.

What you'll do:

Help with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)

Meal prep & feeding support

Offer companionship and check on client wellbeing

Keep simple care notes

We're looking for someone:

PSW certified

Experienced and reliable

Compassionate and patient

Has a Vulnerable Sector Check

Own transportation is a plus

Responsibilities

Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a caring environment Support clients with meal preparation and feeding as needed Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment Monitor and report changes in clients' health or behavior to healthcare professionals or family members Assist with specialized dementia care strategies to ensure safety and comfort Support clients with mobility aids and transfers to prevent falls or injuries Follow all care plans and documentation procedures diligently

Requirements

Experienced in home care environments preferred Knowledge of senior care, working with people with disabilities, dementia care, and medication administration is highly desirable Compassionate attitude with excellent caregiving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare professionals Ability to pass background checks and adhere to health and safety regulations Flexibility to work various shifts as required for client's needs
