Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team in a full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in assisted living and nursing home environments, supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities. This role involves assisting with daily activities, medication management, and ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment. The PSW will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and independence of those under their care, fostering a respectful and supportive atmosphere.

Responsibilities



Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Support seniors and individuals with disabilities in their personal care routines Administer medications following proper protocols and documentation procedures Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, promoting mental well-being Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring dietary requirements are met Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident rooms and common areas to maintain hygiene standards Monitor residents' health status, report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals promptly Support residents during activities and social events to promote engagement and quality of life Follow all safety protocols related to dementia care, medication administration, and infection control

Qualifications



Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is preferred Knowledge of senior care practices, dementia care, and working with people with disabilities is highly desirable Certification or training in medication administration is an asset Compassionate attitude with excellent caregiving skills and patience Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare staff Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting or assisting residents with mobility needs safely Flexibility to work full-time hours as scheduled; availability for shifts that may include weekends or holidays if required
