Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the DI Provincial Equipment Planning and Service Contracts Manager, the DI Provincial Quality and Stewardship Leader is responsible for leading and promoting quality and patient safety, as well as managing health care resources responsibly for the benefit of all patients within all areas of DI services at Nova Scotia Health. The Quality and Stewardship Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting appropriateness standards.The Provincial Quality and Stewardship Leader works collaboratively with the Zone DI leadership team, zone Quality control technologists, Medical Physicists, and other stakeholders to plan, implement and administer a provincial Quality and Stewardship program to ensure continuous improvement and excellence in diagnostic imaging services. The Provincial Quality and Stewardship Leader works with the quality team to ensure these deliverables are monitored and when necessary, appropriately modified.Duties are performed in accordance with the Mission, Vision, Values, Standards, Policies and Procedures of the NSHA, which is committed to patient safety, continued quality improvement, and advancing the delivery of safe and trusted health services.This is a provincial position. Home site will be determined based on the Successful Candidate. This is a hybrid work from home / on-site position. Some travel within the province may be required.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of an approved program in Medical Imaging Technology; credentialed with CAMRT or other imaging-related credentialing body and licensed/eligible to practice by the Nova Scotia College of MIRTP; plus completion of a Leadership focused program (or commitment to complete within defined period) OR:
  • Completion of Quality management certification plus completion of a Leadership focused program (or commitment to complete within defined period). Assessor with a nationally recognized accreditation agency considered an asset.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of technical or quality related experience required
  • Recent relevant supervisory/managerial experience considered an asset
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family, and client-centred diagnostic imaging services
  • Knowledge in field to help inform strategy development and organizational planning
  • Strategic planning and systems thinking
  • Experience in financial planning
  • Evidence-based collaborative problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Well-developed organizational, networking, negotiation and change management skills
  • Experienced in leading change
  • Quality improvement methodologies. (e.g., LEAN)
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs
  • Advanced written and oral communications skills/positive energetic public persona
  • Cultural competence
  • Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks
  • Possesses functional knowledge of Radiology Information Systems and document control systems
  • Ability to work within Microsoft Office suite
  • An equivalent combinations of experience and/or alternative education shall be considered an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
