Demands, duties, qualifications



NL Health Services currently requires a Provincial Manager of Budgeting on a permanent basis. This service oriented management position, reporting to the Director of Financial Services and Budgeting, will be a "hands on" member of the financial team servicing the Corporation's internal and external clients.

DUTIES: The incumbent will be responsible for the development and monitoring of budgets, liaising with appropriate management on budgetary matters, conducting financial and statistical analysis, assisting in the production of monthly and annual financial statements, and conducting special project work as required.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a recognized university with a degree in Business, with major in accounting is required. Completion (or near completion) of a professional accounting designation is also required. The successful candidate must have good organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. Experience in health care is considered an asset.



A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.


In the event no suitable candidate is found with the above noted qualifications, consideration may be given to applicants who do not currently possess a Bachelor's Degree, provided they are willing to complete same within five years of appointment to the position. In this case, the successful applicant must be prepared to demonstrate proof of registration/enrollment to an appropriate degree program within the first year of appointment to the position. Furthermore, the successful applicant is required to provide annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program.
