Further information is available atSUMMARYThe Property Tax Consultant Manager, Industrial and Regulated Property is responsible for industrial and regulated property valuation and compliance management of realty and business tax and assessment matters for BGIS managed facilities nationally.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAssessment Notices and Business Tax Bills

• Review of assessment notices, identifying changes, compiling reports.
• Review of realty and business tax bills.

Reporting and Analysis

• Collect and analyze linear property data for the purposes of submitting annual report to British Columbia and Alberta.
• Provide status reports and assistance to finance regarding Western Canada.
• Provide quarterly updates for Western Canada for property tax \xe2\x80\x9cQuarterly Reports\xe2\x80\x9d.
• Prepare and submit annual linear reporting to BC and Alberta.
• Review annually linear valuation received from BC and Alberta to ensure correctness with submitted reporting.
• Provide tax impact for any changes resulting from linear annual reporting in BC and Alberta.

Appeal Strategy and Client Support

• Participate in \xe2\x80\x9cappeal strategy\xe2\x80\x9d discussion with Senior Analyst and Tax Manager.
• Participate in quarterly calls and assist the client with any issues/questions regarding Western portfolio.
• Conduct lease audits, review tenant apportionment charges and assist in any other transaction related matters.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Completion of College/University program in Urban Economics, Real Estate Valuation, IMA course or equivalent:
• Thorough knowledge of assessment data requirements, its sources, property assessment terminology, valuation policies and procedures, and property assessment legislation (Assessment Act, Municipal Act, Toronto Act, Assessment Review Board Act and ARB Rules and Procedures), BC Assessment Act, Government of Alberta Linear Property Guidelines and strong understanding of valuation and taxation systems in different municipalities across Canada.
• Familiar with local real estate markets and economic factors affecting value of business properties.
• Basic knowledge of the valuation theory and 3 approaches to value.
• Effective time-management, organizational and prioritization skills.
