Machine Shop Operator Description



A Machine Shop Operator, or Machinist, sets up, operates, and performs routine maintenance on various mechanical or computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and products from materials like metal or plastic. They interpret technical documents such as blueprints and engineering drawings to ensure parts meet specific dimensions and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Setup and Calibration: Prepare machinery for production runs by setting controls, installing dies or cutting tools, and calibrating for optimal performance. Operation: Run machines (e.g., lathes, grinders, milling machines) to cut, grind, or otherwise shape raw materials into finished products. Monitoring and Quality Control: Continuously monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, making adjustments as needed. Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers) to ensure they meet quality standards. Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine and preventive maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machines, and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues. Collaborate with maintenance technicians for major repairs. Safety and Documentation: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work area. Document production output, maintenance activities, and quality control data.

Property Maintenance Description



A Property Maintenance Worker (or Technician) is responsible for preserving and maintaining the functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of residential or commercial buildings and their surrounding grounds. They handle a wide range of general repairs and upkeep tasks, often responding to work orders or emergency requests from tenants or property managers.

Key Responsibilities:

General Repairs: Perform a variety of minor repairs in areas such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry (e.g., repairing broken locks, fixing a leaky faucet, patching drywall), and painting. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment (e.g., fire alarms, HVAC systems) to identify potential issues and perform scheduled upkeep to prevent major problems. Groundskeeping and Cleaning: Maintain property aesthetics through tasks like landscaping, gardening, trash removal, and cleaning common areas. Installation: Install new appliances, fixtures, or equipment as needed. Coordination and Documentation: Report significant issues to management, coordinate with outside contractors for specialized projects (e.g., major electrical work, roof repairs), and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and supply inventory.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
