Job Description


The first assignment for this position will be in Alberta, and extensive travel is required within Canada
The Wind Site Superintendent position is the onsite construction representative responsible for day to day construction operations. Responsibilities include Safety and management of Sentry employees and subcontractors. This position reports directly to the Project Manager.
Job Duties:
Pre-Construction Activities:

  • Manage the customer interface.
  • Read the contract in it’s entirely and the redacted contract between the General and the Owner.
  • Review engineering to make sure design follows proposed and negotiated scope
  • Oversee the procurement of materials for the project.
  • Oversee the procurement of rental equipment for the project.
  • Develop and manage the site QA/QC program and documentation.
  • Manage the submittal process. Need to submit and make sure we have approval on all material we are purchasing.
  • Develop and manage project budget during construction and maintain project cost to complete analysis.
  • Develop the QA/QC Program
  • Help with recruitment of Sentry crewmen as needed.
Construction Activities:
  • Manage safety, training and reporting.
  • Manage the development of daily job hazard analysis (JHA) by crew foremen.
  • Write and submit near miss and incident reports as needed.
  • Develop and submit to customer plan of the day (POD) for the next work day assigning tasks to crew members. Integrate this plan into a three day look ahead every day.
  • Write up and submit a Daily Report internally.
  • Addend plan of the day meetings and serve as the onsite liaison to the Customer’s Construction Superintendent or manager.
  • Maintain project schedule.
  • Manage the receipt of material as it arrives onsite and provide receipt information to procurement manager.
  • Manage Change Order process and timely submit and follow through and negotiate change orders.
  • Review material delivery schedule against project schedule to look for bottlenecks on construction issues.
  • Assess crew progress against budget and schedule daily to determine if crew production is adequate.
  • Submit budget for review weekly and update the project tracker daily.
  • Complete quality checks daily and complete QA/QC paperwork as work is completed.
  • Complete timesheets daily and submit time and equipment information to accounting weekly.
  • Develop (lock out tag out) LOTO with client.
Post Construction Activities:
  • Demobilize crew, equipment and rentals.

Summary of Regular Job Reporting:
  • POD submitted internally and to customer daily
  • Tracker submitted internally and to customer daily.
  • Time sheets gathered daily and reported internally weekly along with truck mileage and trailer information.
  • Daily reports submitted internally daily.
  • Incident reports and near misses submitted as they happen internally and to customer.
  • RFIs and submittals as they are required.
  • QA/QC documentation filled out daily.
  • Budget updated weekly
