Project controls is responsible for project metrics such as time, cost, and resources as well as project revenue and cash flow. This position encompasses the people, processes and tools used to plan, manage and mitigate cost and schedule issues and risks that may impact a project.There is an opportunity in our Fredericton office for a highly motivated Project Planner/Scheduler & Controller. We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in project controls and/or coordination related work including knowledge of project management processes and project life cycles. The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, is detail-oriented, has excellent computer software skills and enjoys working in a supportive team environment.Your Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the project life cycle and implement project controls processes and procedures as requiredUnderstand and provide support to develop Work Breakdown Structures for project execution and monitoringSetup, Plan, Prepare and maintain project and/or engineering schedules and cost control aspects from project initiation to close outCollect information to support cost control reports to project managersCollect information to support schedule updates for project managersAnalyze, evaluate and forecast based on progress and performanceTrack cost and schedule performance against baselines and update baselines accordinglyMonitor project budgets and recommend and facilitate change management processes as requiredReview and code 3rd party invoices for processingValidate source data and ensure integrity of processes affecting project success such as project coding, budget allocation, A/R & A/P project related activityManage invoicing while ensuring compliance to project contractual terms and conditionsBuild and maintain effective relationships with Project ManagersPerform thorough QA/QC on all deliverables.QualificationsYour Capabilities and CredentialsStrong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skillsProven ability to work in a deadline driven environment, ability to prioritize and multi-task and manage client expectationsSuperior written and verbal communication skillsProficient in MS Office including MS ProjectProficient in Primavera P6 Planning and Scheduling is requiredEducation and ExperienceBachelors degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field.15 years of related work experience.Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each others talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us.
