JOB SUMMARY
The mandate of the Transit Customer Systems and Planning Service is to provide customer service, service planning, and technology and control systems support for OC Transpo, geared to providing excellence in customer service delivery to 100 million transit customers per year by means of conventional bus, para transit and rail operations. You are responsible for supporting the decision, creating process and implementing Transit projects by coordinating project functions, maintaining official business records, tracking project progress, facilitating communication among project members, coordinating testing and training, conducting research, compiling and analyzing research findings, preparing reports and responses, and planning and managing small sub-projects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of 3 year General Arts degree or community college diploma in Administrative Studies, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of work experience in performing project implementation and research tasks such as work planning and monitoring, preparing reports and presentations, conducting research, preparing, analyzing, interpreting and reporting data.
KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of principles and techniques of project management
General knowledge of the corporation, departmental business requirements, policies and organizational structure
Possess understanding of research, data collection and analysis methodologies
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Project and SharePoint
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, BIMS, Visio, SAP, Internet and electronic communication
Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

Able to work independently with minimum support/direction, and cooperatively and collaboratively with all staff as part of a team
Possess organizational skills and flexibility to plan, initiate, organize and prioritize own work, and to deal effectively with multiple demands, conflicting priorities, pressures and deadlines
Possess strong existing computer skills with the capacity and willingness to learn new software, research methods, and work routines quickly, under the mentorship of project lead staff

Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Able to prepare reports, presentation materials, correspondence in an organized, clear and concise manner
