The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Position summary
Under the supervision of the Respiratory Program Leadership, Respiratory Division Director, Meakins-Christie Director and the RECRU Director, the Project Manager is responsible for taking a leadership role in the development of the creation of a large-scale clinical, biological, and bio-specimen database located at the Montreal Chest Institute (MCI) and Translational Research in Respiratory Diseases Program of the RI-MUHC. The incumbent will organize, manage, and coordinate a multidisciplinary translational research platform (The MCI Living Lab) and will work closely with various partners and entities for the coordination, management, strategic planning, and execution of the project. The project is aimed at modernizing the Montreal Chest Institute as a state-of the-art clinical and research data repository and hub. The project will centralize the coordination of respiratory research with the goal of creating a respiratory disease cohort capable of supporting translational research, including the identification of markers for predicting disease onset, disease progression and response to treatment in patients with respiratory disorders. The incumbent will be working closely with the investigators and personnel of the Translational Research in Respiratory Diseases Program of the RI-MUHC.

General Duties

  • Organize, manage, and coordinate the development and implementation of a multidisciplinary translational research platform (The MCI Living Lab),
  • Act as the primary point of contact and resource person for all principal investigators of the Translational Research in Respiratory Diseases Program, resolve problems and guide others,
  • Maintain strong working relationships with group members, manage communication channels between research teams, and coordinate shared training, support and development,
  • Organize and manage multidisciplinary research projects that utilize the Living Lab,
  • Manage and implement the regulatory, funding, budgetary, and infrastructure elements of the platform,
  • Participate in the implementation of study protocols, and optimize organizational and operational efficiency to promote their success,
  • Establish priorities, ensure adherence to study timelines and quality of output, and provide timely study updates/reports,
  • Perform other duties (including administrative) directly related to the research program and projects as required or assigned by the project leaders.

Education / Experience

Education: Doctorate Degree
Field of Study: Health Sciences or other related fields

Work Experience: PhD and/or postdoctoral experience in clinical research or database management or related work experience

Professional Membership: \xe2\x98\x90 Yes \xe2\x98\x92 No

Other Requirements:
  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
  • Experience with basic programming, REDCap, R, ATiM is an asset,
  • 2 years of experience in project management and/or research coordination with proven leadership skills in scientific research environment,
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Strong problem-solving skills,
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel),
  • At least 2 references are required.

Status: Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: $52,998.40 - $98,425.60, commensurate with education & work experience
Work Shift: 5 days per week
