The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
Projects will take place in the pediatric critical care setting.

The project manager is in charge of a specific project or projects within the PICU. The person is to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of the specific project that he is working on. The project manager will work closely with the principal investigator.s to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule, as well as with other departments for support.

Project 1. Is to act Program Manager Sepsis Canada Interdisciplinary Training Program. Dr. Patricia Fontela is leading this Sepsis Canada Interdisciplinary Research Training Program (https://www.sepsiscanada.ca/training-programs)and is seeking a project manager to help assist in the design, implementation, management, and evaluation of the training program. Project 2. PICU Clinical Research Manager. In collaboration with the PICU PIs, develop, implement, and advance the PICU Research team vision. This role will include the oversight of all PICU research activities and research assistant supervision.

General Duties
1) Sepsis Canada training program:

  • Marketing and Learner Selection: Market the training program within the Sepsis Canada Research Network and to partner organizations,
  • Curriculum Development: Refine current program curriculum content and co-design new learning modules as needed in collaboration with lecturers, upload content onto the Learning Management System (LMS). Coordinate the recording/editing of pre-recorded lectures,
  • Oversee Learners: Review personalized training programs co-developed by learners and the program director, and monitor learner progress monthly. Gather, collate, and assist in delivery of feedback to trainees from lecturers and mentors,
  • Program Evaluation: Gather and collate feedback on training program. Generate progress reports for program as needed,
  • Coordinate the Sepsis Canada Annual Symposium: Co-develop symposium program in collaboration with Sepsis Canada Trainee Committee, LifTING program manager, and the Sepsis Canada Research Network,
  • Meeting Organization: Liaise with the Sepsis Canada Trainee Committee, Program Chair, Sepsis Canada Research Network, and partner organizations. Tasks include booking and organizing meetings, preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, and reports.
2) PICU Clinical Research Manager
  • Oversight and coordination all studies carried out in the PICU setting (REB application, budget management, regulatory responsibilities in accordance with GCP). Demands excellent organizational skills,
  • To monitor and follow progress on project and deliverables ensuring that the projects and deliverables are on-time,
  • Ability to communicate with multiple services and liaise with contracts, pharmacy, central laboratory, etc,
  • Assist medical residents with research projects (excellent knowledge of study design),
  • Assist to prepare protocols and associated documents for grant submission,
  • Supervise research assistants.

Education / Experience
  • A Bachelor\'s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years\' work experience or Master\'s degree in a related discipline,
  • Previous experience working within a research network or research setting is an asset,
  • Strong project management skills required,
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,
  • Ability to work independently with little guidance, and effectively as part of a team,
  • Ability to work well under pressure, set priorities and coordinate multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines,
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and evaluating a training program is an asset,
  • Demonstrated experience uploading content onto and managing a Learning Management Systems in an asset,
  • Experience developing relationships with partner organizations (e.g., industry, government, and not-for-profits) is an asset.
Additional information

Status: Full time - 35 hours per week
Pay Scale: $52,998.40 - $98,425.60, commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: Monday to Friday
Work Site: Glen Site/Montreal Children\'s Hospital. With approval of the scientific leaders some administrative tasks may be completed by teleworking
