Project Manager - Plastic Packaging Tooling

Responsibilities

:

Manage tooling projects for the thermoformed packing industry. This includes but not limited to trim tooling, molds, stacker tooling and prototyping etc.

Manage multiple project lifecycles, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure

Schedule, track and coordinate the execution of project milestones and deliverables

Work along side various departments including sales, engineering, purchasing and manufacturing

Proactively communicate technical details and deliverables with customers, vendors and colleagues

Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues/roadblocks and recommend corrective actions

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and project specifications

Lead weekly production meetings to ensure projects remain on schedule

Coordinate outsourcing requirements based on internal resource capacity constraints

Complete and maintain project documentation including project inputs

Become well versed in ODC's products, services and processes

Always represent ODC in a professional manner

Additional duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

:

Project coordinator/management experience from a manufacturing industry

A technical background with the ability to decipher detailed mechanical drawings

Excellent customer service, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project considered an asset)

Must be willing to learn and use software packages for project and data management (Navision, SmarTeam, etc.)

Highly motivated self-starter who can work with moderate supervision in a team environment

Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks and shift priorities and timeframes

Requirements

:

Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar technical Project coordinator/management role (interacting with external customers)

An excellent command of the English language as well as written skills

Willingness and ability to travel within North America

Periodically respond to emergency customer impacting situations after hours
