The successful candidate will be a motivated, dynamic and purpose-driven individual who works well within and leading a team.Training for this position is available so we encourage all interested individuals to apply.Responsibilities -
- Oversee our Forests of the Future program including projects management, partnership development, implementation and reporting.
- Work with nurseries to source native Wabanaki Forest species for our projects and events
- Site identification and planning, and landowner engagement
- Staff and volunteer coordination for planting events
- Plant, monitor, and report on new planting sites and maintain recently planted sites
- Funding proposal development and reporting
- Support the maintenance of sugarwood plantations and syrup production
- Support other projects within the biosphere's mandateQualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Forestry and Environmental Management or related field
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Self-motivated and highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability manage a flexible schedule
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness and ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
- Proficient with Google Suite
- Access to reliable transportation and class 5 license is required
- Bilingual in French and English considered an assetTerm and rate:
