Regional Cancer Programs are part of Ontario\xe2\x80\x99s cancer system leading local strategy implementation to provide person-centred, safe, equitable, efficient, effective, and timely cancer care on a foundation of quality improvement principles.:Reporting to the Manager, Cancer Screening, Primary Care and Prevention and Diagnostic Imaging, the Project Manager for the Regional Cancer Program will provide regional process monitoring and analysis, and project management support for the implementation of quality and performance improvement initiatives as it relates to the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP). The main responsibilities for the Project Manager will be to execute on a project that improves access and timeliness for patients who are utilizing the OBSP. The project will also support efficiencies in primary care providers and OBSP site integration. The successful candidate will plan, support execution, and finalize project implementation for the OBSP portfolioby utilizing critical thinking and aligning best practices. The Project Manager will foster partnership development with regional stakeholders to support the regional project implementation for OBSP that has broad impact across the region and partnering institutions that aligns with the Regional Cancer Program Strategic Plan, and Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario) Cancer Plan. The Project Manager will work with four regional hospitals across ten sites (Halton Healthcare, Headwaters Health Care Centre, Trillium Health Partners, and William Osler Health System), and other external stakeholders including ntegrated Community Health Services Centres (ICHSC). As part of this role, the Project Manager will facilitate the integration of project planning and delivery in order to maximize opportunities for collaboration and minimize risks and issues. The Project Manager will support a team focused on implementing an innovative project plan aimed at improving performance and wait times within the OBSP program. The position will have a focus on supporting a team engaged in continuous quality improvement initiatives, develop strategies to improve performance indicators, and identify additional indicators to optimize outcomes.Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all elements of projects as assigned;
  • Supporting implementation of all necessary processes and practices to ensure the program is delivering the project objectives and is successfully achieving the project\xe2\x80\x99s goals;
  • Partnering with the Project Managers and Quality and Performance Consultants in the Regional Cancer Program, the role will work collaboratively to meet deliverables
  • Create and implement project management plans and project management resources to execute upon timelines through all phases of the project life cycle, manage risks, and escalate to senior leadership as required
  • Participate and lead regional working groups/committees to support project governance and the achievement of project deliverables;
  • Monitor and report on progress, problems and solutions of the project to all stakeholders and escalate issues as appropriate; present to Regional Director and Regional Vice President on key status updates, project milestones, and deliverables as needed
  • Support a number of multi-disciplinary stakeholders through all phases of the project life cycle while simultaneously providing coaching, motivation and guidance throughout the duration of the project;
  • Create and implement change management plans that maximize employee engagement, supporting smooth adoption of changes impacting employees and the organization;
  • Engage and communicate with stakeholders on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are met and understood;
  • Participate in the creation and delivery of innovative presentations and proposals to all levels of the Regional Cancer Program; and
  • Liaise with internal and external partners at the facility, regional, and provincial levels to ensure the successful completion of project deliverables and act as a regional resource for partnering sites.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a Health or Business discipline required, Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree an asset
  • PMP designation considered an asset
  • Experience in cancer screening programs or Ontario Breast Screening Program operations considered an asset
  • Change Management certification an asset (e.g. PROSCI)
  • Demonstrates solid project management skills including knowledge of project management principles, tools, and processes
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a role with project management responsibilities in a health care environment: previous experience in healthcare environment such as hospital, government agency, primary care, research institute, etc. an asset
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate needs of senior leaders
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at leading and working with large/complex teams
  • Effective interpersonal communications skills and ability to successfully build relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills
  • Demonstrates a high degree of initiative, self-direction and ability to multitask
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team to meet timelines and accomplish goals
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance required
