##### Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Project Officer (UHNBC Tower), the Project Manager, UHNBC Tower - Mechanical is responsible for implementing the Acute Care Tower Project, overseeing the planning, design and construction phases and liaising with various stakeholders, consultants and contractors to ensure operational requirements are addressed. In collaboration with the Alliance Team Members, and Alliance Project Manager (APM), facilitate cross-stream communication and, using a Best for Project decision-making approach, ensures the successful delivery of exceptional outcomes for the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the Project. Through their work stream teams, team members will promote achieving deliverables in a culturally safe manner, staying within or below the Alliance budget, meeting or exceeding the target schedule, and delivering quality and performance that realize gain share on Key Result Areas (KRAs).



Reports to the Chief Project Officer (UHNBC Tower) initially and reassigned to the Alliance Team on formation, Works in collaboration with the Alliance Project Manager (APM) and team members on the project.

This position is expected to be working from the UHNBC Tower Project Office Located in Prince George BC.



Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.




University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the largest Acute Care facility within the Northern Health region, and a hub for specialized health services. It's also a teaching hospital:

##### Qualifications


• Completion of a university degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field supplemented by advanced courses in project management;
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in all phases of project planning/design and management in a large, complex environment;
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Previous health care experience, designation as a Project Management Professional and/or a degree in Business Administration or Health Services Administration an asset.



Skills and Abilities:


• Broad knowledge of the planning and construction processes associated with facilities development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of health care projects and relevant government procedures, standards and requirements.
• Advanced project management skills including demonstrated effectiveness in planning and coordinating major projects.
• Broad knowledge of accreditation standards, Workers Compensation Board regulations, and Occupational Health & Safety and Infection Control issues.
• Comprehensive knowledge of space planning theories, concepts and methodologies.
• Broad knowledge of the hospital environment and legislation affecting space redesign in health care institutions.
• Demonstrated competence in cultural safety and humility, and experience working with Indigenous communities.
• Ability to deal effectively with various stakeholders, consultants and contractors.
• Ability to resolve conflict and facilitate consensus between stakeholders on critical issues.
• Ability to analyze and problem-solve complex issues towards creative solutions.
• Ability to ascertain bottom line requirements and maintain project budgets.
• Ability to anticipate and respond to changing priorities or unforeseen opportunities.
• Ability to prepare and present written and verbal reports on technical issues.
• Ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to others including staff and contractors.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently.
• Ability to operate related equipment including computer software applications.
