This could include full-scope road construction (e.g. earthworks, road base, concrete flatwork, and paving) and deep utility infrastructure.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Manager Lead oversees the planning and execution of all heavy civil projects across residential, commercial, and municipal sectors. This role serves as both a senior project delivery expert and the primary leader for the Project Management group, providing mentorship, reviewing work, and ensuring consistency in process, performance, and communication. This role is responsible for setting expectations for quality, accountability, and adherence to McNally's project delivery framework -- leading by example and driving continuous improvement across the division.

How You'll Add Value



Actively contribute to a strong safety culture by supporting safe practices Provide strategic oversight and leadership across a portfolio of heavy civil construction scopes, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations Act as the primary point of contact for escalated project issues, client concerns, and technical inquiries Support and mentor Project Managers and Coordinators, providing regular feedback, reviewing project plans and documentation, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution Develop, implement, and enforce standardized project delivery processes, holding the PM group accountable for documentation, communication, reporting, and safety practices Facilitate regular check-ins and reviews with project teams to ensure risk management, scheduling, cost tracking, and subcontractor coordination are being effectively managed Collaborate with engineers, clients, municipalities, and internal stakeholders to align goals, solve problems, and deliver results Lead site visits and inspections to assess project status, identify issues early, and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards Support the development of estimates and project handoffs by working closely with Estimating and Field Operations Promote a proactive, high-performance culture centered on safety, collaboration, and professional growth

Qualifications & Experience



5+ years of progressive project management experience, with a strong background in heavy civil construction CET, Construction Project Management Degree, P.Eng., or a trade background in heavy civil construction; equivalent combinations of education and deep underground experience will be considered In-depth understanding of project management methodology and deliver models ranging from localized repairs to large scale, full scope construction Proven leadership in overseeing and mentoring project managers, project coordinators, and field teams Demonstrated ability to lead meetings, resolve complex project issues, and maintain productive client relationships Strong organizational skills with a commitment to process, documentation, and accountability across project teams Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a Driver's Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
