Job Description

With an established construction partnership with a Toronto-based university, our client is searching for a talented Project Manager with Higher Education construction experience to grow this vertical. Our client focuses on developing its people into leadership roles through exposure to its many projects throughout North America.

Responsible for all aspects of the project

Responsible for establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with owners, architects, consultants, trades, and the public while representing and promoting Harbour Hill's services and ensuring client satisfaction

Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Program, provide key leadership, set examples, ensure safety minutes are provided, and ensure compliance to Policy and Procedures Manual

Supervise, mentor, coach, and train project personnel

Ensure that all permits, notices, insurance, and bonding are in place

Assist in the tendering process and awarding of trade contracts

Ensure that all subcontractors receive drawings and specifications, and all material and subcontractor tenders are issued in a timely manner

Organize and lead all pre- and course of construction meetings - with trades, on site and with consultants and owners

Manage the budget and change order process

Prepare the baseline schedule; maintain and update it throughout the project; providing 2 week updates at progress meetings

Manage and resolve contractual and technical issues with consultant's and trades

Prepare and present monthly Project Cost Reports

Review and authorize sub-trade and material payments and verify accurate cost coding

Prepare and implement all submittal logs and RFI logs

Conduct regular site reviews and meetings; ensure that the minutes are distributed accordingly

Manage all day-to-day correspondence and ensure that the job site receives all correspondence in a timely manner

Ensure that deficiencies are dealt with in a timely manner

Act as a liaison between all project team members, both internal and external

Ability to prioritize various tasks with conflicting deadlines

Engineering degree (Civil/Construction/Architectural) or technical college diploma in Construction Management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the ICI construction industry with previous experience as project coordinator or like

Knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating, budgeting and scheduling

Strong understanding and adherence to safety standards

Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project
