Geomega Resources Inc. is a pioneering Canadian clean technology company at the forefront of developing innovative processing technologies for the extraction, refining, and recycling of rare earth elements and other critical metals. Based in the Greater Montreal area with facilities in Boucherville and Saint-Hubert, Quebec, Geomega is building sustainable solutions for the critical metals industry that are essential for electric vehicles, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Our company specializes in rare earth magnet recycling and has developed proprietary technologies, environmentally friendly, iron-friendly hydrometallurgical process that achieves over 95% reagent recovery, produces minimal waste, and delivers critical mineral concentrate. We are currently advancing our rare earth recycling demonstration plant and have recently signed a landmark Joint Development Agreement with Rio Tinto for bauxite residue valorization technology.
Within the last decade, Geomega has established a robust intellectual property portfolio with multiple patents in hydrometallurgical extraction processes. Our team of approximately 20 employees includes researchers, engineers, and technical specialists dedicated to transforming industrial waste and other secondary resources into valuable critical metal products.

1. Research & Science Team:
Responsible for preparing proposals, technical reports, patent applications, scientific documentation, and research publications
2. Laboratory & Pilot-Scale Operations Team:
Conducting testwork, running experiments, operating pilot equipment, and generating process data at bench, lab, and pilot scales
3. Engineering Team:
Engaged in design of pilot and demonstration plants, scale-up activities, vendor communications, contractor management, and construction oversight
While the CTO provides the overall strategy, R&D direction, and defines main technical tasks, the Project Manager ensures seamless execution by planning, supervising, coordinating, and troubleshooting throughout a project's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution

Establish project baselines and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress against time, cost, and quality targets
Coordinate procurement activities including equipment specification, vendor selection, purchase order management, and delivery tracking
Cross-Functional Coordination
Serve as the central coordination point connecting researchers, laboratory technicians, engineers, vendors, contractors, and construction companies
Facilitate regular communication and meetings among the three functional groups to ensure alignment and information flow
Manage interfaces between internal teams and external stakeholders including government agencies, funding organizations, research partners, and commercial clients
Ensure timely information exchange to prevent bottlenecks and maintain project momentum
Project Monitoring & Control
Conduct regular follow-ups and progress reviews to ensure projects proceed according to plan
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource utilization; identify variances and implement corrective actions
Track and manage project risks, issues, and change requests; develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Maintain project documentation including plans, schedules, meeting minutes, status reports, and decision logs
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Review project deliverables including technical reports, experimental data, design documents, and patent applications to ensure quality standards are met
Verify that research protocols, testwork procedures, and engineering designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements
Coordinate reviews and approvals of technical documents and project outputs
Ensure proper documentation and traceability throughout a project lifecycle
Issue Resolution & Risk Management
Identify and raise red flags when projects encounter obstacles, delays, or technical challenges
Facilitate problem-solving sessions bringing together appropriate team members and subject matter experts
Regulate hiccups during execution by coordinating rapid responses to unexpected issues
Escalate critical issues to the C-Level with recommended solutions and risk assessments
Stakeholder Communication
Prepare and present regular project status reports to the C-Level
Communicate project progress, challenges, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate reporting requirements for government funding programs and research grants
Manage expectations and maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders
Resource Management
Coordinate resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects
Work with functional managers to ensure appropriate staffing and expertise availability
Manage project budgets including expense tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
