Kern Air Systems Ltd. is seeking an experienced Project Manager in the HVAC industry, carrying the responsibility of planning, coordinating, and overseeing HVAC projects from start to finish. This includes budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, excellent communication skills, and proven experience managing construction or mechanical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full lifecycle of HVAC projects (commercial/residential/industrial), from estimating and pre-construction through to close-out.
Lead HVAC projects involving boiler systems, dehumidification control, in-floor heating, heated driveway (commercial/residential/industrial)
Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules; ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
Review HVAC plans and specifications to determine job requirements and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Supervise field crews and subcontractors; ensure safety and quality standards are upheld.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including change orders, RFIs, submittals, and progress reports.
Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain client satisfaction.
Forecast project needs and manage procurement of materials and equipment.
Ensure timely billing and assist with collections as needed.
Track and report on key project performance metrics (KPIs).
Identify and mitigate risks and delays proactively.
Required:
TSSA G2 Licensed, 313A (required) or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (asset, not a must), Project Management (PMP, CPM, CAPM) or equivalent proven HVAC experience.
8+ years of experience in project management within the HVAC, mechanical, or construction industry.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation practices.
Proficiency with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam).
Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Preferred:
PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
OSHA 30 certification.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or HVAC design software.
Working Conditions:
Office and job site environments.
May require extended hours during peak project phases.
Frequent travel to local or regional project sites.

Competitive salary based on experience, 5% Commission
