What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing the construction project to ensure QA standards are met and delivered on time
  • Tendering the project to trade contractors
  • Negotiating with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Maintaining and monitoring the budgets
  • Creating, monitoring and updating project schedules and updating weekly progress plans
  • Creating, monitoring and updating look-ahead schedules
  • Ensuring that Adi?s quality of work is upheld
  • Monitoring the progress of the project and reporting as required
  • Tracking/logging daily site activities
  • Reviewing and negotiating changes to scope of work, reviewing and managing claims for extra costs from Trade Contractors
  • Ensuring that the health and safety project plans are implemented
  • Coordinating the trades and contractors and ensuring that they are performing as required
  • Assist and coordinate permit procurement
  • Collaborate with design team and participate in construction coordination meetings
  • Shop drawing review and coordination
  • Document control and coordination
  • Supervising site staff as required
  • Preparing monthly Project Reports
  • Maintaining all lines of project communications
  • Ensuring the site office is organized and kept to the highest possible standards
  • Ensuring construction documents are organized and maintained
  • Liaise with the executive team as necessary
  • Attend, run all construction and coordination meetings

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in construction as a Project Manager, with a focus on mid or high rise residential construction
  • Bachelor?s in Business, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent Is a MUST (MBA and M. Eng. Preferred)
  • PMP designation is a must
  • Able to interpret construction drawings and effectively apply information to project
  • Proven success in maintaining project budgets and schedules and a track record of delivering projects that meet project budget/deadlines or have delivered early and under budget
  • Expert knowledge of construction sequence and building science
  • Thorough understanding of construction law, health and safety regulations, OBC, Tarion standards
  • Experience developing and maintaining quality plans that have resulted in a reduction of quality defects
  • Proven success in leading large teams on site with a focus on coaching, mentorship, and developing junior team members
  • Strong public speaking skills with experience running effective meetings
  • Strong business communication skills with the ability to tailor communication based on the stakeholder audience
  • Expert negotiator, with proven success in obtaining cost savings for the project/company
  • CMMP and logistics management
  • Aptitude with scheduling software and project management software is a must
  • Procore certification is preferred
