The Electrical Project Manager will focus on overseeing and leading all aspects related to the field projects to ensure all milestones are completed within the established budget and timelines. The role will closely work with in-house and external personnel to ensure feasibility and costing of our projects are completed efficiently, on-time and are profitable for the organization. This includes delegating responsibilities to the appropriate staff and reviewing and providing appropriate work direction as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage field labour capacity through the master schedule to ensure no excess of overhead
Attend all required site meetings, process change notices, and communicate changes
Establish and manage positive working relationships will all key internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are always on-track and on-budget
Manage all documentation pertaining to the project
Ensure health and safety practices are adhered to
Collaborate with the Director of Operations for planning, strategy and management of projects
Supervising staff to meet project goals and performance expectations
Provide reporting cost-analysis and work with the scheduling and finance teams to manage financial scope for project
Manage change orders when the scope of work changes
Ensure all changes to the project scope are properly documented
Identify and source resolutions for project roadblocks
Review all updated schematics, blueprints, drawings and collaborate to appropriate staff
Develop and implement detailed specifications and schedules based on project plans and customers timelines
Identify and create/source a resolution for project roadblocks
Mentor junior Project Managers and Coordinators as required
Qualifications:
Post Secondary education in Project Management or equivalent
10+ Years' combined experience on field and as a Project Manager in similar field and industry
Experience with Civil project Management would be considered an asset.
5+ years' experience exposure to projects over $2 million
Previous experience with Accubid Change Order
Understanding of AutoCAD/BIM
Ability to develop and manage detailed work plans, project schedules, estimates and resource plans in conjunction with project members
Technical background expertise in scheduling and costing utilizing an ERP or project Management software
Proven track record for productivity, profitability and cost analysis
Excellent Communication and leadership skills to provide clear direction
Excellent attention to detail, time management and change management
Strong Computer skills related to the Construction/ Electrical Industry
Establish key project metrics and take appropriate action to manage accordingly
