RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, we are looking for an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our dynamic team to help oversee a translational research program in transplantation. The project manager will oversee the MUHC kidney disease data and biospecimen repository and support, among others, international research activities with the following themes:
The Precision Medicine Can PREVENT AMR project is a national initiative for the development and implementation of tools, approaches and techniques aimed at the prevention of kidney transplant rejection. Additionally, applying innovative artificial intelligence (AI) based approaches, the German Canadian NephroCAGE consortium aims to develop better predictive models to identify patients at risk for graft failure with the overarching goal of improving graft and patient survival after kidney transplantation. We will use a decentralized, Federated Learning Infrastructure (FLI) to build clinical prediction models (CPMs), among others, for kidney graft survival. Ultimately, these models can be incorporated into clinical databases and web-based platforms and be used internationally.

General Duties
Under the guidance of the Scientific Leader and in collaboration with external stakeholders, the Project Manager will effectively integrate priorities, milestones and deliverables within the project. In partnership with the individual investigators, Project Leaders and Program Managers in the other provinces, the Project Manager will:

  • Integrate deliverables, changes, deviations into the overall project plan, ensuring that project milestones and objectives are updated regularly and communicated to all stakeholders in a timely fashion so that everyone is aware of the Genome Canada (GC) and NephroCAGE project progress on an ongoing basis,
  • Keep track of multiple projects simultaneously so that a master Gantt chart with associated timelines and milestones is up to date,
  • Prepare reports as required by the Scientific Leader Quebec (GQ) and the Research Institute,
  • Work in close partnership with key team members to monitor project progress and ensure attainment of milestones according to the endorsed plan, timeline, budget, and quality parameters,
  • Coordinate all aspects of the project activities with investigators, partners and institutions,
  • Facilitate the identification of operation and project issues for discussion with appropriate team leaders,
  • Provide the Scientific Leader with project schedules and resource information/updates to enable effective portfolio management,
  • Oversee the management of retrospective and prospective kidney transplant patient cohorts across study sites in Quebec,
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of ethics and other regulatory documents for submission,
  • Oversee the progress of data and biospecimens collection.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Scientific Leader, the Project manager will work closely to effectively integrate priorities, milestones, deliverables within this Genome Canada and NephroCAGE projects in collaboration with GQ, Genome British Columbia (GBC), Genome Alberta (GA) and 14 provincial and national transplant programs and histocompatibility laboratories. The Project Manager will also be responsible for the schedule, quality and risk management of the retrospective and prospective cohorts that are key for the programs. The Project Manager will plan, manage, facilitate and coordinate the collection and analysis of clinical data and biospecimens. Finally, the Project Manager will oversee the maintenance and updates of a data sharing platform.

  • Ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team, clinical and non-clinical stakeholders,
coming from hospital, research and industry environments,
  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate autonomy, initiative and creativity,
  • Experience using statistical analysis software, such as Stata, R, SAS, python is an asset.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: 9am to 5pm
Work Site: Glen, 5252 De Maisonneuve, with the approval of the scientific leaders some administrative tasks may be completed by teleworking.
