SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice President, Event Management, the Project Manager plays a fundamental role in keeping BaAM?s multidisciplinary teams on track through the project and event planning lifecycle on multiple, complex projects. The Project Manager works closely with the entire BaAM team to ensure proactive and productive communications, bridging creative and production resources.

The Project Manager assumes responsibility for the successful completion and execution of a variety of projects and events across all areas - team, scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, procurement, vendor management and communications.

Projects may include large-scale events or more permanent installations, requiring varying degrees of facility integration. The Project Manager will directly manage the execution of all components of a given project using internal resources or contract team members as required. The Project Manager will work closely with the Design and Production departments to determine the optimum production and fabrication solutions that maintain the established quality and design standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing projects/events and project teams on a variety of projects.
  • Working with your colleagues in the BaAM organization to coordinate cross-disciplinary work and inputs for internal initiatives and projects
  • Ensuring all documentation follows existing processes and industry best practice and is consistent from project to project, year over year
  • Developing and managing project budgets using BaAM developed, and Client driven documentation, including purchase orders, estimates, rate cards, etc
  • Working with clients and partners to bring added value to projects and project revenues as appropriate.
  • Using existing and newly developed Project Management tools, monitor the financial health of the project and work closely with the Finance Department to ensure all financial project information is up to date, accurate and follows the required procedures to allow timely financial reporting and invoicing.
  • Ensuring details of deliverables and project schedule have been documented and communicated to all project stake holders and all members of the project team.
  • Working closely with the client or internal client liaison (Project Director), ensure ongoing, effective communication relating to project progress and ensuring effective communication of client feedback to the project team.
  • Representing BaAM in a professional manner in all interactions ? including liaison with clients, vendor partners, co-workers.
  • Assume other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Background, and Experience
  • University Degree or College Diploma or equitable live experience required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset
  • Successful candidate will have 5-8 years previous experience working as an Event Manager, Event Producer or as a Project Manager in the event and entertainment industry and have solid knowledge of processes, practices, tools, and templates
  • Experience working on live events in a management capacity
  • Experience managing large project teams which are performing various roles on active and busy projects
Physical demands
  • Primary work location is BaAM?s HQ in Toronto, Canada with periodic remote work 2-3 days per week
  • Travel for site surveys and events as required
Other requirements
  • To be available to travel as required on a project-by-project basis.
  • When required, must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support project schedule deadlines.
